We are super excited because we are making travel plans, people! After so much, and I mean SO MUCH research, we finally picked a destination, and WE ARE GOING TO POLAND. Of course, we’ve been super excited to lay the news on here for SO LONG, but we were just waiting for things to get finalized. Now that they have been finalized, we are ready to overshare!
First of all, WHY Poland?
When I told a friend of mine that we are going to Poland, his exact reaction was, “I have never heard of a Poland vacation”. I realised he wasn’t the only one who feels that way, very quickly. There are a lot of people, especially Indians for whom Poland wouldn’t be a top pick in Eastern Europe, forget Europe, or even feature on their bucket list.
Every country in the world is on our bucket list, so it was the hardest decision ever, deciding where we want to go. We put up a simple filter system that allowed us to shortlist countries rather quickly. The first filter we applied was flight budget. We set a per person return trip budget for flights and fished out all the international destinations within that budget. Then we eliminated South East Asia completely from the list because we did Bali last time. This trimmed our list down HEAVILY since most of the affordable flights were to SE Asia. After that, we looked up weather and tried to find places which wouldn’t be super cold or super rainy in March. We also eliminated places of major political unrest. After we did all that, we had about 6 countries to pick from, and we chose the one that had a combination of reasonable cost of travel, beautiful scenery, amazing history, and also the least popular as a travel destination – POLAND
Poland is so underrated I can’t even begin to tell you! There is so much to see and do, yet it takes a TON of research to even scratch the surface. Luckily for you guys, we’ve done all the dirty work, so consider our trip’s posts a fairly detailed guide about Poland. We are going to be posting a whole bunch of articles BEFORE our trip which will give you all the things you need to know about Poland, including our itinerary, how to get the visa done, where we plan to stay, what we plan to do, things that we aren’t doing and why we aren’t doing them, and a lot more.
